Gloria Gray has been honored with the Visionary of the Year award at PVJOBS’ annual recognition luncheon. PVJOBS is a nonprofit that helps people rebuild their lives by teaching them trade skills.
Gray serves on the West Basin Municipal Water District Board of Directors.
Dezdon Lewis recently was awarded the Participant of the Year honor from PVJOBS and a certificate from U.S. Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard.
Lewis, who was in and out of prison many times, was hired to work on the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project after teaming up with the nonprofit.
He began his career digging ditches for the train but is now an inspector in charge of Segment Eight Health Safety and Environmental.
Brenda Anderson has been honored by Los Angeles City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson for her work guiding neighborhood leaders on how to engage with the neighborhood city council.
Anderson is an assistant chief grant administrator at the Economic and Workforce Development Department.
She earned her master’s in business administration from Cal State Dominguez Hills and a bachelor’s from Cal State San Diego.
