Attorney Robert Pearman has been appointed by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon to serve on the California Architects Board.
The board aims to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public through the regulation of the practice of architecture in California.
Pearman is an alumnus of the African-American Board Leadership Institute, which recruits, prepares and places African-Americans on a wide range of governing boards.
Uduak-Joe Ntuk, a petroleum engineering associate for the city of Long Beach, has been confirmed as a personnel commissioner for the Long Beach City Community College District.
The commission administers the merit system of equal opportunity employment as prescribed by the statutes of the California Education Code. The functions of the office include: job classification and compensation, recruitment and assessment, and adjudication of disciplinary and examination appeals. The functions are performed under the authority and oversight of a three-member Personnel Commission.
Ntuk is an alumnus of the African-American Board Leadership Institute.
